A bronchogenic cyst is a fluid-filled sac that forms near the airways during development before birth. Most are noncancerous and found unexpectedly. An MRI may show a fluid-filled structure near the airways or in the central chest. Identifying a bronchogenic cyst early allows for monitoring to ensure it does not grow or cause complications.
