Arachnoid cyst

Head & Neck

An arachnoid cyst is a fluid-filled pocket that forms between the brain and one of its surrounding membranes. Most are present from birth and cause no problems at all. An MRI may show one of these cysts as an incidental finding. Finding an arachnoid cyst allows for monitoring to ensure it remains stable over time.
