Cardiomegaly

Chest

Cardiomegaly is an enlarged heart, which can result from high blood pressure, valve disease, or other cardiac conditions. It often develops gradually and may be present without obvious symptoms. An MRI may show an increased heart size consistent with cardiomegaly. Identifying an enlarged heart early allows for investigation into the underlying cause and treatment that may help slow further decline in heart function.
