Cerebral amyloid angiopathy

Head & Neck

Cerebral amyloid angiopathy is a condition where amyloid protein builds up in the linings of blood vessels in the brain. It increases the risk of brain bleeding and cognitive decline. An MRI may show changes in brain tissue consistent with amyloid-related vascular changes. Identifying cerebral amyloid angiopathy early allows for management of risk factors that may help reduce the chance of brain bleeding.
