Cerebral vasculitis

Head & Neck
Blood Vessels & Circulation

Cerebral vasculitis is an inflammation of blood vessels in the brain that can restrict blood flow and cause stroke-like symptoms. It can develop gradually and be difficult to diagnose without imaging. An MRI may show changes in brain tissue and vessel linings consistent with vasculitis. Finding cerebral vasculitis early may allow for treatment to reduce inflammation before permanent brain damage occurs.
