This is a blood clot in the veins that drain blood away from the brain. It is less common than arterial clots and can sometimes be present with subtle or no symptoms. An MRI may show changes in the venous drainage system of the brain. Early identification may allow for treatment before the clot causes lasting damage to brain tissue.
