Tumours can develop in the diaphragm, the muscle separating the chest and abdomen. Primary diaphragmatic tumours are uncommon but secondary invasion from nearby structures can happen. An MRI may show a mass in or near the diaphragm consistent with a tumour. Finding a diaphragmatic tumour early may allow for surgical planning before it involves surrounding structures.
