Medulloblastoma

Head & Neck

A medulloblastoma is a malignant brain tumour that develops in the cerebellum, the part of the brain at the back that controls coordination. It is more common in children but can happen in adults. An MRI may show a mass in this region consistent with a medulloblastoma. Finding a medulloblastoma early may allow for prompt treatment before it spreads through the cerebrospinal fluid. MRI is the preferred modality for assessing posterior fossa tumours including medulloblastoma, and is used for both diagnosis and staging.

SCReening explained
It’s important to understand that OneMRI's full-body scan is a general proactive health scan developed to include areas where preventative screening delivers the most meaningful insight in a way that is safe and non-invasive. The scan should be used to compliment other routine scans and screening. It should not replace standard screening protocols or targeted procedures as recommended by your doctor, specialist or health provider. Examples of these include mammogram, prostate examination, cervical screening, colonoscopy, and lung cancer screening.
