A meningioma is a usually slow-growing tumour that forms in the membranes surrounding the brain. Most are noncancerous and many people have one without ever knowing. An MRI may show signs of a meningioma as an incidental finding. Finding a meningioma early means it may be monitored and managed before it grows large enough to cause symptoms.
