Neurogenic tumours are growths that develop from nerve tissue, commonly found near the spine in the back portion of the central chest. Most are noncancerous and slow growing. An MRI may show a mass near the spine or in the chest consistent with a neurogenic tumour. Finding a neurogenic tumour early may allow for assessment and treatment before it grows large enough to press on the spinal cord or chest structures.
