Oesophageal cancer

Chest
Abdomen & Pelvis

Oesophageal cancer develops in the lining of the food pipe that connects the throat to the stomach. It can develop slowly and may not cause noticeable symptoms in its early stages. An MRI may show changes in the oesophageal region that could be associated with a mass. Finding signs of oesophageal cancer early may significantly improve the range of treatment options available. Endoscopy is the primary diagnostic tool for oesophageal cancer, however MRI contributes to staging assessment.
