The parotid glands are the largest salivary glands, sitting just in front of each ear. Tumours can develop here and most are noncancerous, though some are not. An MRI may show changes in the size or structure of the parotid gland. Finding a parotid tumour early may allow for assessment and treatment before it grows or affects surrounding structures.
