Pituitary hyperplasia is a growth of the pituitary gland beyond its normal size, which can happen in response to hormonal changes. It can cause hormonal imbalances and may be found unexpectedly. An MRI may show an enlarged pituitary gland consistent with hyperplasia. Finding pituitary hyperplasia allows for hormonal assessment and management of any associated imbalances.
