Pulmonary hypertension

Chest
Blood Vessels & Circulation

Pulmonary hypertension is higher than normal blood pressure in the arteries supplying the lungs. It can develop gradually and cause worsening breathlessness. An MRI may show changes in the pulmonary vessels and the right side of the heart consistent with elevated pressure. Identifying pulmonary hypertension early may allow for treatment to help slow progression before significant right heart strain develops.
