Rib tumour

Chest

Tumours can develop in the ribs from primary bone tumours or secondary spread from other cancers. They may cause localised pain or be found unexpectedly. An MRI may show changes in rib bone and surrounding soft tissue consistent with a tumour. Finding a rib tumour early allows for investigation and treatment that may help prevent structural damage or spread. MRI is well-suited for evaluating rib and chest wall lesions, providing detail on soft tissue extension and bone marrow involvement.
