Right ventricular dilatation is an enlargement of the right chamber of the heart. It can result from elevated lung blood pressure, valve disease, or other cardiac conditions. An MRI may show an enlarged right ventricle consistent with dilatation. Finding right ventricular dilatation early allows for investigation into its cause and treatment that may help protect heart function.
