Tumours can develop in the salivary glands, most commonly the parotid gland. The majority are noncancerous but some are malignant. An MRI may show a mass in a salivary gland consistent with a tumour. Finding a salivary gland tumour early may allow for surgical removal before it grows or invades surrounding structures.
