The sinuses are air-filled spaces in the skull around the nose. Thickening of the sinus lining from inflammation, allergy, or infection is a very common finding. An MRI may show changes in the sinus lining consistent with inflammation or ongoing sinusitis. Identifying ongoing sinus inflammation may help explain symptoms and guide appropriate treatment.
