Vascular loop syndrome

Head & Neck
Blood Vessels & Circulation

Vascular loop syndrome happens when a blood vessel presses against a cranial nerve, causing symptoms such as ringing in the ears, facial pain, or dizziness. An MRI may show a blood vessel in close contact with a cranial nerve consistent with nerve-vascular compression. Finding vascular loop compression early may provide an explanation for symptoms and allow for surgical treatment if needed.
