A bone cyst is a fluid-filled cavity that develops within a bone. Most are noncancerous and cause no symptoms, often found unexpectedly on imaging. An MRI may show a fluid-filled change within a bone as an incidental finding. Finding a bone cyst allows for monitoring to ensure it remains stable and does not weaken the surrounding bone.
