Bone marrow oedema refers to an abnormal build-up of fluid within the bone marrow, often indicating stress, injury, or inflammation. It can be present without obvious symptoms. An MRI may show signal changes in bone marrow consistent with fluid build-up. Finding bone marrow oedema early allows for investigation into the underlying cause and management that may help prevent progression.
