Coeliac artery stenosis is a narrowing of the main artery supplying the upper abdominal organs. It can cause abdominal pain after eating and may develop from plaque build-up or pressure from surrounding structures. An MRI may show changes in the coeliac artery consistent with narrowing. Finding coeliac artery stenosis early may allow for treatment before it causes significant abdominal organ ischaemia.
