Gonadal vein thrombosis

Blood Vessels & Circulation
Abdomen & Pelvis

Gonadal vein thrombosis is a blood clot in the ovarian or testicular vein. It can happen after pregnancy or surgery and may cause pelvic pain. An MRI may show changes in the gonadal vein consistent with a clot. Finding a gonadal vein thrombosis early may allow for anticoagulation treatment before it causes complications.
