Intracranial arterial stenosis is a narrowing of the arteries supplying blood to the brain. It increases the risk of stroke and may cause no symptoms until a vascular event occurs. An MRI may show narrowing in vessels inside the skull consistent with stenosis. Finding intracranial arterial stenosis early allows for medical management that may help reduce stroke risk.
