Lymphoedema is a build-up of lymphatic fluid in body tissue causing swelling, most commonly in the arms or legs. It can develop gradually and go unrecognised for some time. An MRI may show changes in soft tissue consistent with lymphatic fluid build-up. Identifying lymphoedema early may allow for management to help prevent progressive swelling and tissue changes.
