Splanchnic artery aneurysms are bulges in the arteries supplying the abdominal organs. They are often found unexpectedly and most cause no symptoms until they grow. An MRI may show a focused widening in one of these arteries consistent with an aneurysm. Finding a splanchnic artery aneurysm early allows for monitoring and may allow for repair before it reaches a size that poses rupture risk.
