A splenic artery aneurysm is a bulge in the lining of the artery that supplies blood to the spleen. It is often found unexpectedly and most are small and cause no symptoms. An MRI may show a focused widening of this artery consistent with an aneurysm. Finding a splenic artery aneurysm early allows for monitoring and may allow for treatment before it grows to a size that poses risk.
