A subclavian artery aneurysm is a bulge in one of the arteries supplying the upper body and shoulder. It can cause clots to form and travel to the arm or brain. An MRI may show a focused widening of the subclavian artery consistent with an aneurysm. Finding a subclavian artery aneurysm early allows for monitoring and may allow for treatment before it causes embolic complications.
