Varicocele

Blood Vessels & Circulation
Abdomen & Pelvis

A varicocele is an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, similar to varicose veins. They are common and often cause no symptoms but can affect fertility. An MRI may show enlarged venous structures in the pelvis or scrotum consistent with a varicocele. Finding a varicocele allows for assessment of its potential impact on fertility and consideration of treatment if needed. Ultrasound is generally the preferred tool for varicocele assessment, however MRI may show relevant pelvic venous changes.

SCReening explained
It’s important to understand that OneMRI's full-body scan is a general proactive health scan developed to include areas where preventative screening delivers the most meaningful insight in a way that is safe and non-invasive. The scan should be used to compliment other routine scans and screening. It should not replace standard screening protocols or targeted procedures as recommended by your doctor, specialist or health provider. Examples of these include mammogram, prostate examination, cervical screening, colonoscopy, and lung cancer screening.
