Cervical spondylolisthesis happens when a vertebra in the neck slips out of position relative to the one below. It can cause neck pain and neurological symptoms affecting the arms. An MRI may show changes in cervical vertebral alignment consistent with slippage. Identifying cervical spondylolisthesis early may allow for management before it causes spinal cord or nerve root compression.
