A spinal ependymoma is a tumour that develops from the cells lining the central canal of the spinal cord. It is the most common primary spinal cord tumour in adults. An MRI may show a mass within the spinal cord consistent with an ependymoma. Finding a spinal ependymoma early may allow for surgical removal before it causes significant neurological damage.
