Iliopsoas bursitis is an inflammation of the bursa, a small fluid-filled cushion, near the hip flexor muscle. It can cause groin or hip pain and is often mistaken for other hip conditions. An MRI may show changes near the iliopsoas tendon consistent with bursitis. Identifying iliopsoas bursitis early may allow for targeted treatment to reduce inflammation and help prevent chronic pain.
