Lumbar spondylolisthesis

Musculoskeletal & Spine

Lumbar spondylolisthesis happens when a vertebra in the lower back slips forward over the one below it. It can develop gradually and cause back pain or nerve symptoms. An MRI may show changes in lower back vertebral alignment consistent with slippage. Finding lumbar spondylolisthesis early allows for management that may help prevent progression and protect nerve function.
