Sacroiliitis is inflammation of the sacroiliac joints, where the spine meets the pelvis. It is a common source of lower back pain and is often linked to inflammatory conditions. An MRI may show changes in the sacroiliac joints consistent with inflammation. Identifying sacroiliac inflammation early may allow for treatment before joint damage progresses.
