Tendinopathy refers to degeneration or damage of a tendon, most commonly in the shoulder, hip, or knee. It can develop gradually through overuse and may be present without significant symptoms. An MRI may show changes in tendon structure consistent with degeneration. Identifying tendon degeneration early may allow for targeted rehabilitation before it progresses to a full tear.
