A vertebral haemangioma is a noncancerous cluster of blood vessels within a vertebral body. They are very common and almost always cause no symptoms. An MRI may show a characteristic signal change in a vertebra consistent with a haemangioma. Finding a vertebral haemangioma provides a baseline for monitoring and helps distinguish it from more concerning vertebral changes.
