An adrenal adenoma is a noncancerous growth on one of the adrenal glands, which sit above the kidneys. Most cause no symptoms and are found unexpectedly on imaging. An MRI may show changes in the adrenal gland consistent with an adenoma. Finding an adrenal adenoma allows for assessment of whether it may be affecting hormone levels and monitoring over time.
