Biliary hamartomas are tiny noncancerous bile duct variations scattered throughout the liver. They are almost always harmless and found unexpectedly on imaging. An MRI may show multiple small liver changes consistent with biliary hamartomas. Identifying biliary hamartomas helps distinguish them from more concerning liver findings and may provide reassurance.
