Bladder cancer develops in the lining of the bladder. It can sometimes be present without obvious symptoms in early stages. An MRI may show changes in the bladder lining that could be associated with a mass or abnormal tissue. Finding bladder cancer early, when it is confined to the bladder lining, may give the best chance of successful treatment. Cystoscopy is the primary diagnostic tool for bladder cancer, however MRI is valuable for staging.
