Bladder outlet obstruction happens when the flow of urine out of the bladder is blocked or restricted. It can develop gradually and cause worsening urinary symptoms. An MRI may show changes in the bladder and surrounding structures consistent with a blockage. Finding bladder outlet obstruction early may allow for treatment before it causes bladder damage or kidney complications.
