Cowden syndrome is a hereditary condition causing multiple noncancerous growths and an increased risk of breast, thyroid, and endometrial cancers. An MRI may show changes in at-risk organs consistent with this syndrome. MRI surveillance in Cowden syndrome may allow for earlier detection of associated cancers before they become symptomatic.
