Gallbladder polyps are small growths on the inner lining of the gallbladder. Most are harmless but larger polyps may warrant further investigation. An MRI may show changes in the gallbladder lining consistent with a polyp. Finding a gallbladder polyp early allows for monitoring of its size and assessment of whether it may require removal. Ultrasound is the preferred tool for gallbladder polyp assessment, however MRI may show relevant gallbladder changes.
