Gaucher disease

Whole Body Systems

Gaucher disease is a genetic condition where fatty substances build up in organs including the liver, spleen, and bone marrow. It can cause organ enlargement and bone complications. An MRI may show changes in affected organs and bone marrow consistent with Gaucher disease. Finding Gaucher disease early may allow for enzyme replacement therapy before significant organ damage occurs.
