A glucagonoma is an uncommon pancreatic tumour that produces excess glucagon, causing high blood sugar and other systemic symptoms. An MRI may show a mass in the pancreas consistent with a glucagonoma. Finding a glucagonoma early may allow for surgical treatment before it causes significant metabolic complications or spreads. MRI is well-suited for characterising pancreatic tumours including glucagonoma, providing detailed assessment of tumour extent and vascular involvement.
