Haemochromatosis is a condition where the body absorbs too much iron from food, causing it to build up in organs including the liver, heart, and pancreas. It often develops without symptoms until organ damage has occurred. An MRI may show changes in organ signal consistent with iron overload. Finding haemochromatosis early may allow for treatment through regular blood removal before organ damage becomes irreversible.
