Haemolytic anaemia happens when red blood cells are broken down faster than they can be made. It can affect multiple organs over time including the spleen and liver. An MRI may show changes in affected organs consistent with complications from haemolysis. Identifying organ changes from haemolytic anaemia early may allow for treatment to help manage the underlying condition.
