A hepatic adenoma is a noncancerous liver tumour that develops most commonly in women. Most cause no symptoms but some can bleed or, rarely, develop into cancer. An MRI may show a distinct mass in the liver consistent with an adenoma. Finding a hepatic adenoma early allows for monitoring and management to help prevent complications including bleeding.
