Multiple myeloma

Whole Body Systems

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells that can affect the bone marrow throughout the body. It can cause bone damage and other complications before obvious symptoms appear. An MRI may show changes in bone marrow consistent with myeloma involvement. Finding multiple myeloma early may allow for treatment before significant bone damage or organ involvement occurs.
