Myelofibrosis is a bone marrow cancer where scar tissue gradually replaces normal marrow. It can cause the spleen and liver to enlarge and lead to anaemia. An MRI may show changes in bone marrow signal and abdominal organs consistent with myelofibrosis. Finding myelofibrosis early may allow for treatment to help manage symptoms and slow disease progression.
