Pancreatic lipoma

Abdomen & Pelvis

A pancreatic lipoma is a rare noncancerous fatty growth within the pancreas. It is almost always harmless and found unexpectedly on imaging. An MRI may show a fatty mass within the pancreas consistent with a lipoma. Identifying a pancreatic lipoma helps distinguish it from more concerning pancreatic masses and may provide reassurance.
